A Real Knoxvillian’s Guide to Restaurants
Along with drinking, we like to eat, although someone associated with this site is perturbed that 99 cent burritos aren’t served at any of these places. So here they are in all their non-ranked glory.
Bravo’s – Everything here is delicious
Calhoun’s – This place is not preferred…just because you always want a beer and if you don’t have a taste for microbrews…although the bread basket is a plus.
Copper Cellar – The food is usually great, but it’s the Sunday brunch that puts it over the top.
Downtown Grill and Bar – The food is okay but not preferred…just because you want a beer and if you don’t have a taste for microbrews…and no bread basket.
Golden Corral – This is a buffet style place. The food was possibly mediocre. It looked like an office building. It caused us to smell the worst we have ever smelt, when we left. Worst of all it was eleven dollars, when we didn’t think it was worth six.
Guthrie’s – The new favorite chicken restaurant…just like Sawyer’s, Wishbones, and Zaxby’s but better, if you don’t need cheese.
Nagoya (or as a member of the staff says “Nugoaleeas”) – It’s a great deal on classic Asian cuisine (teriyaki chicken), and it’s good too.
O’Charley’s – The food is mediocre and the service sometimes sucks, but the rolls are awesome…with a few exceptions.
Da Vinci’s Pizza – It’s probably the only late night pizza place in town, and the food tastes almost as good when you are sober.
Patrick Sullivan’s – There is no valid opinion about this place.
Pizza Hut – The P’zone is a favorite.
Rafferty’s – The pasta is good, but the croissants are better.
Subway – The double meat “Spicy Italian” is always a good choice.
T. Ho’s – It’s one of the best and longest lasting authentic Vietnamese restaurants in town.

"No Washington" began as a simple feud between Washington and Tennessee. What erupted was a firestorm of articles that continue to flare up to this very day.
