2010 NFL Forecast Week 2

Look for Foster to have 12 Touchdowns and 1500 yards this year, barring injury. Yes I just knocked on wood.
Week 1 was something else. Micheal Vick may be the Eagles starting quarterback moving forward. Team “winners” from NFL-Managed fantasy league 79485 is either or Psychic or a voodoo master, as he started Vick in our league match. That or one lucky idiot. Eagles starter Kevin Kolb suffered a concussion in the 2nd quarter prompting Vick’s entrance. Vick then outplayed both Kolb and Aaron Rodgers. Chris Johnson is still on form, achieving over 100 yards for the 12th straight game, in the Titans’ opening game rout of the Raiders. He is just 1 game back of Barry’s streak. The Texans lived up to the added expectations of the media, scoring a crucial opening day victory over the reigning AFC Champion Colts. Former Vol Arian Foster who posted 231 rushing yards and 3 TDs, giving the Texans the solid running game they have always desired. The Washington Redskins finally stood up to their pre-season hype. Led by Mike Shanahan and helmed by Donovan McNabb, they held off a last second Cowboy drive to win their season opener. The Cheatriots pulled ahead quickly, and a pick 6 and a kick off return to start the 3rd was enough to hold off an impressive Bengal 2nd half. Not only Ocho-Cinco, but rookie Jordan Shipley also outshined T.O., so the time-bomb may already be ticking. Lil’ Manning had a rough day, but managed to find Hakeen Nicks in the end zone 3 times, as the Giants overpowered the Panthers. Sam Bradford looked good, but ultimately was asked to carry too much of the burden, passing over 50 times, as the Rams couldn’t hold off the Cardinals. The most shocking game of the week was the Seahawk’s dismantling of NFC West Media (including my own) Favorite 49ers. The Niners got of to a 6-0 lead, but didn’t score again while Seattle continuously drove down the field, scoring 31 unanswered. Then Monday rolled around. The Jets played good D, but the Ravens played better D. They held the Jets to just 6 first downs, and only allowed 1 3rd down conversion pulling off the 10-9 victory. The late game featured the Chargers going to Kansas City. The Chiefs rallied behind some big plays by their young stars for an upset that nobody saw coming. Nobody but me. Obviously ESPN isn’t looking at the right websites.
Alas, another stupid rule has reared it’s ugly head. The Lions would have been on top of the NFC North (even 1 week in, that’s impressive for them) but apparently catching the ball with both hands, with both feet on the ground, then falling to one’s rear isn’t a catch anymore, if you go to stand up and drop the ball as you are pushing yourself up. Disgraceful. Officials catch enough flack as it is, without stupid rules like this making them out to be villains on game winning catches. Here’s an idea. If someone catches a ball and lands. It’s a catch. Moving on, here’s how our experts look after week one.
Trojan Horse Pick 7-0 (1.000)
Hampton Forecast 4-3 (.571)

This Weeks Picks:
Game 1:
Baltimore at Cincinnati
The Bengals played excellent in the 2nd off of their game vs the Cheatiots last week. However they often dig themselves too big of a whole to climb out of. This week 10 points will be too much with the powerful close game of the Ravens able to control the tempo and the defense being much stronger than the Cheatroits lineup.

Ravens 33 – Bengals 22

Ravens 24 – Bengals 17

Trojan Horse Pick
Ravens 20 – Bengals 10
Game 2
Pittsburgh Steelers at Tennessee Titans
The Steelers managed to squeak by the Falcons last week in overtime. The Falcons couldn’t get anything going on offense (short of passing to Roddy White) and couldn’t find the end-zone. The Titans found the end-zone 5 times, 3 of them rushing and 2 times through the air. It was the Raiders, but they also pulled Chris Johnson early. Look for Johnson to reach closer to 200 yards this week as the Titans will have to lean on the running game vs a stronger Steelers Secondary. Look for a bigger game from Mendanhall as the Titans were chewed up by McFadden last week. The Titans outlast the Steelers:
Hampton Forecast
Titans 30 – Steelers 21

Titans 24 – Steelers 10

Trojan Horse Pick
Titans 27 – Steelers 14
Game 3:
Houston Texans at Washington Redskins
Houston and Washington got hard earned wins vs divisional rivals in week one. However the Texans looked far more impressive putting up over 30 on the Colts while the Redskins only TD came off of a fumble recovery on a stupid play by the Cowboys. Yesterday’s performance leads me to errata my 2nd AFC wild card decision. Three Spots will come from the AFC South this year, and if they run the ball like they did yesterday, the Texans may well get a first week bye. The Redskins will make a run at the NFC East this year, but not this week. The Texans will outscore the Redskins easily as NO Washington bleeds over for this analyst.

Game 4
New England Cheatriots vs New York Jets
The Cheatriots held off the Bengals last week, but don’t expect the Jets to play that sloppy to start the game. Those check downs won’t eat the Jets like they did the Bengals and the only way the Cheatriots will win is if Welker goes deep often opposite of Moss who will surely spend the night on Revis Island. Unlike the Giants before them, the Jets lost their first game in New Meadowlands Stadium. The barely manage to grab that first win this week:
Hampton Forecast
Jets 24 – Patriots 22
Blue House Lives Prediction
Jets 17 – Patriots 14
Trojan Horse Pick
Patriots 31 – Jets 20
Game 5
New York Giants at Indianapolis Colts
The Giants looked great last week as they got revenge for their last game in Meadowlands Stadium trouncing the Panthers. Hakeem Nicks scored 3 times, in the effort and Ahmad Bradshaw finally woke up late. If he can get going early look for the Colts to struggle. However Peyton Manning doesn’t lose consecutive game, and the Colts can’ t afford to this year. Peyton will light up the Giants secondary and a Mannning family shoot-out.
Hampton Forecast
Colts 38 – Giants 33
Blue House Lives
Colts 34 – Giants 21

Trojan Horse Pick
Colts 34 – Giants 24
Game 6
New Orleans Saints vs San Fransisco 49ers
The Saints got off to a good start last week (by comparison) and they will be more polished this week. Alex Smith plays sloppy from week to week and even though I picked them to win the division I’m going to stick with that as I don’t believe in anyone else in the West to play that well consistently. The Saints should win this game, and need it to stay ahead in the South. Look for the Saints to go Deep often and for Brees to pass for 3+ TDs:

Hampton Forecast Upset/Sleeper Pick of the Week
Miami Dolphins at Minnesota Vikings
Everyone is writing the Vikings off after a poor start. The only thing is Favre has started slow the last 4 years now. His last year in Green Bay they were one play out of the Super Bowl. A torn rotator cuff kept the Jets out of the playoffs in what otherwise would have been a 11 or 12 win season. The Vikings committed 6 fumbles and still should have beaten the Saints (hard to hold up in sudden death when the opponent gets the ball first and is handed 3 first downs they didn’t get, and 2 very generous spots and 3rd and 4th down.) Miami’s running game was great last week and their defense swallowed the Bills offense. However the Vikings are still much better than the Bills and they get back on track:
Vikings 33 – Dolphins 19

This week, BH Cinema is proud to present Curse of the Golden Flower, the Chinese epic directed by Zhang Yimou. Nickle heralds this movie as "pretty good". Scooter has viewed the poster art and wholeheartedly agrees.
