Virginia Walks in Wichita Victory
WICHITA, KS – Virginia’s Kermit Beckham walked in two runs in the eighth inning to set up Wichita’s 3-2 victory on Saturday. The Somethings (3-2) benefited from Beckham’s embarrassing performance, and the victory puts them atop the Central Division. For the Opossums (2-3), the loss only sets them back one game, as the Central Division has proven to be the most competitive in the entire league. This loss is Beckham’s second one this season, and he leads the league among reservist pitchers in losing decisions.
The two teams finish up their three-game series on Tuesday.
