9th Inning Heroics Lead Sleepers Over Boulder
SAN ANTONIO – Raul Taylor hit a single to left center field that knocked in Howard Hedges in the bottom of the ninth that granted San Antonio a 1-0 over Boulder on Saturday evening. The run constituted the first game-winning run in regulation in league history. For the Sleepers (3-2), the win pushed them back over .500 and positioned them to challenge Hawai’i for the top spot in the Western Division. Boulder (1-4), however, suffered a huge blow to morale. Following their victory on Tuesday, it appeared fortune was looking up for the Bunions, but after Saturday’s disappointing loss, they appear to be back in the pits.
The two teams finish up a three game series on Tuesday.
