MONTREAL – The Manchester Monarchs marched into the Churchwell Dome as considerable underdogs. Yet, after nine innings, they emerged victorious following a 9-1 thumping of the Montreal Flatliners. Manchester (1-0) capped the game off with an 8-run ninth inning to break a one-to-one tie that had been in effect since the sixth inning.

The scoring started in the second inning when the Monarch’s Jess Raap hit a 390 foot homer to right field off of Shaun Margetson. Montreal (0-1) evened it up in the sixth after John Mason hit a deep fly ball that scored Matthew Kuhl. Kuhl opened the inning with a triple down the right field line.

In the ninth, the Flatliners pulled Shaun Margetson and brought in James Rivera. Rivera proceeded to get lit up by the Monarchs offense. Hit followed hit, and Manchester built an insurmountable 9-1 advantage. The two teams play again on Tuesday from the Churchwell Dome.

A Special Message

The Blue House Lives sincerely reflects that we all live within the Ninja Empire and are explicitly bound by the laws and regulations designed and introduced by Ninja, the self-proclaimed Grand Emperor of The Blue House.
In order to appease our sense of self-preservation, The Blue House Lives officially pledges our allegiance to the Ninja Empire, and this publication hopefully awaits the capitulation of those groups still engaged in resistance against mighty Ninja.
We do not express these sentiments out of fear. We promise.
